Autentista is a unique wine and champagne bar located in the heart of Prague’s Old Town, at Řetězová 10. Opened in October 2019, it was founded by poet and winemaker Bogdan Trojak, a leading advocate of natural wines in the Czech Republic, and Antonín Suchánek, known for importing grower Champagnes under the Champagnier brand. The bar specializes in authentic natural wines from regions such as the Czech Republic, Moravia, Italy, France, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and Georgia. The name “Autentista” reflects its dedication to authentic wines and their creators—winemakers who produce characterful, natural wines with respect for the environment, avoiding industrial cultivation and processing methods.
The interior of Autentista was designed by the architectural studio Formafatal, preserving the historical essence of the space while incorporating modern elements. Notable features include two striking Meshmatic chandeliers and a bar made of rolled steel sheets adorned with a stylized starry sky created from ASCII characters, a nod to the venue’s previous incarnation as a literary café. The Gothic cellar serves as a versatile space for wine tastings, author readings, intimate concerts, and moderated discussions.
Autentista offers an extensive selection of wines, served in French Lehmann glassware, with premium grower Champagnes presented in hand-blown glasses. The Champagne list features esteemed producers such as Ulysse Collin, Jérôme Prévost (La Closerie), Larmandier-Bernier, Egly-Ouriet, Tarlant, and Dhondt-Grellet.
