Bílkova vila

Bílek’s Villa, located in Prague’s Hradčany district, is an Art Nouveau building designed and constructed by Czech sculptor and architect František Bílek between 1910 and 1911. Serving as his residence and studio, the villa’s architecture symbolizes a wheat field, with its ground plan representing the path of a scythe through grain and stone pillars resembling sheaves of wheat. This design reflects Bílek’s spiritual and artistic vision, emphasizing the connection between nature and creativity. Since 1963, the villa has been managed by the Prague City Gallery (GHMP) and houses a permanent exhibition of Bílek’s works, including sculptures, drawings, and original furnishings. Visitors can explore the artist’s studio and living spaces, gaining insight into his life and creative process.
