Začalo to jednou obyčejnou, ale odhodlanou mámou. Klára Borlová žila v malé jihočeské vesnici a jako mnoho jiných rodičů chtěla pro své dítě to nejlepší – včetně prvních botiček. Jenže to nebylo tak jednoduché. Nabídka klasické obuvi pro malé děti jí připadala nepřirozená, tvrdá, často i zdravotně problematická. Při hledání vhodné obuvi narazila na koncept barefoot – bot, které napodobují chůzi naboso a podporují zdravý vývoj chodidla. Jenže v Česku tehdy téměř nebyly k dostání.

It all started with one ordinary but determined mother. Klára Borlová lived in a small village in South Bohemia and, like many other parents, she wanted the best for her child – including her first pair of shoes. But that wasn’t so simple. The range of traditional footwear for small children seemed unnatural to her – stiff, and often problematic from a health perspective. While searching for suitable shoes, she discovered the concept of barefoot footwear – shoes that mimic walking barefoot and support the healthy development of the foot. But at the time, they were nearly unavailable in the Czech Republic.

Klára neváhala a rozhodla se pro velký krok. I když měla v té době jen mateřskou a velmi omezené finanční možnosti, objednala ze zahraničí 50 párů barefoot bot – minimální možný odběr. Jeden pár nechala pro svou dceru, zbylých 49 zkusila nabídnout dál. A k jejímu překvapení si je rodiče doslova rozebrali během několika dní. Ukázalo se, že podobně nespokojených matek a otců je celá řada.

Klára didn’t hesitate and took a big leap. Even though she was on maternity leave and had very limited financial resources, she ordered 50 pairs of barefoot shoes from abroad – the minimum possible order. She kept one pair for her daughter and tried to offer the remaining 49 to others. To her surprise, parents snapped them up within a few days. It turned out that there were many other dissatisfied moms and dads out there.

Z původního rizika se stala příležitost. Klára založila e-shop Little Shoes, zpočátku z garáže, mezi uspáváním dětí a večerním balením balíčků. Postupně rostla nejen nabídka, ale i tým kolem ní. Dnes je Little Shoes prosperující rodinná firma, která patří k největším prodejcům barefoot obuvi v Evropě, a která zaměstnává desítky lidí, včetně členů její rodiny. I přesto, že firma vyrostla, Klára zůstává její duší – dohlíží na výběr značek, testuje novinky a stále komunikuje se zákazníky.

What initially seemed like a risk became an opportunity. Klára founded the e-shop Little Shoes, starting out in her garage, packing parcels in the evening and during nap times. Gradually, both the range of products and the team around her grew. Today, Little Shoes is a thriving family business and one of the largest barefoot footwear retailers in Europe, employing dozens of people, including members of her own family. Despite the company’s growth, Klára remains its heart and soul – overseeing the brand selection, testing new products, and staying in touch with customers.

Little Shoes dnes nabízí přes 30 000 různých modelů barefoot bot pro děti i dospělé. Sortiment se neustále rozšiřuje – od městských tenisek přes elegantní modely až po outdoorovou obuv. A co je nejdůležitější – všechny boty spojuje důraz na zdraví, svobodu pohybu a kvalitu. Vedle českého e-shopu vznikl i mezinárodní brand Footic, který má své verze pro Anglii, Německo, Slovensko i Polsko.

Today, Little Shoes offers over 30,000 different models of barefoot shoes for both children and adults. The selection continues to grow – from urban sneakers to elegant styles and outdoor footwear. And most importantly – all the shoes share a commitment to health, freedom of movement, and quality. Alongside the Czech e-shop, an international brand called Footic was launched, with versions available in the UK, Germany, Slovakia, and Poland.
